Today makes one year with this handsome fella! I’m so thankful God placed you into my life a year and a half ago, and I’m even more thankful that you chose me to be yours a year ago! Thank you for loving me in the good times and bad, and for always knowing how to put a smile on my face. Most importantly thanks for being your nerdy Japanese talking frat daddy self. I can’t wait to see what this next year has in store for us. I love you to the moon and back. (at he put up with me for a year👏)

THIS IS A PICTURE THAT SOMEONE TOOK WHO WORKS ON AN OIL RIG IN TEXAS.

HE WANTED TO GET A SHOT OF THE LIGHTNING THAT WAS FLASHING BY.
HE WAS UNAWARE OF THE TORNADO UNTIL THE LIGHTNING ILLUMINATED IT.

This has been called a one-in-a-million photo; taken south of Ft. Stockton, Texas.

Holy shit.

We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, “O me! O life!… of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless… of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?” Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

Rest in peace.

Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you,
And all the things that you do…
